Sport and Culture

Learners are encouraged to participate in extra-mural activities in the belief that this is an essential aspect of their overall education, and complementary to their academic development, both of these components being equally important in preparing learners for life.

Our learner’s are offered the choice of a wide range of extra-mural activities and we have no doubt that they participate willingly and that most learners derive great enjoyment from their respective activities. The staff are keen to ensure that learners develop an interest in, as well as loyalty and commitment to their school.

The school’s extra-curricular activities programme includes:IMG_0549

Sport:

Hockey, Cricket, Rugby, Netball, Swimming, Athletics, Cross-Country, Ball Skills, Girls Movement, Tennis and Soccer

Cultural:

Quiz, School Choir, Chess, Art and Drama

We are fortunate to have competent staff members who have, in the past, achieved a high standard in such aspects as play productions and variety concerts. The cultural background of learners is further broadened by regular visits to the school by production companies.

Educators will continue to organise excursions which enrich the experience of learners. General opportunities will be provided to develop talents and skills.

Aftercare

Our Aftercare caters for all the age groups at our school. Homework is supervised and children are given some free playtime. Our school runs a holiday aftercare programme during the school holidays.

Remedial Classes & Academic Support

If a child is not coping in some area due to a learning difficulty they are assessed with permission from the parent and if the child requires remedial lessons our very own remedial teacher is on hand. Remedial lessons are incorporated into the normal school day by our remedial teachers. We also offer Academic Support two afternoons a week for each grade in Maths and English.
